Intent
Intent Statement
Our intention is that the provision of Science will enable us to achieve our vision – every child a success.
'All pupils at St Peter’s C of E Primary School experience the key scientific knowledge and skills required by the National Curriculum. All children will progress to at least their expected age-appropriate level and have a passion for questioning, exploration and discovery.
We aim to develop children’s natural excitement and curiosity, inspiring them to pursue lines of scientific enquiry throughout their learning journey. As part of a vibrant and hands-on learning environment, our children become increasingly confident in their learning. They will be able to explain and analyse phenomena, make predictions, solve problems and draw conclusions based on what they have discovered.
Teachers aim to nurture a love for the natural world, excitement for future possibilities in Science and provide many opportunities for pupils to respond creatively in their learning.'
