Dear Parents,
As you know from my previous correspondence, there have been continual been unfolding events over this weekend regarding the safe opening of Tier 4 primary schools. In light of the reduction in staffing we are experiencing, it is not operationally safe for us to open the school to all pupils. Therefore, St Peter’s School and Nurseries will only be open to pupils who are key workers or are vulnerable (have an EHCP or a social worker). We shall be in touch about these arrangements later today. We will switch to remote learning tomorrow morning, plans for which can be found on our school website. This limited opening is anticipated to last for nine school days (until full reopening on 18th January). However, we shall continually review the situation and open earlier if we possibly can. I completely understand that this may be inconvenient and appreciate how important it is for children to be in school learning with their peers. However, currently, we are not in a position to safely open to all pupils. I would like to thank you all for your patience during this time. The staff team are working very hard to ensure your child continues to safely access a full curriculum.
Your sincerely,
Tanya Morris

A word about press ups :
If your child cannot maintain a completely straight back and appears to be straining, please advise they come onto their knees. Keeping wrists in line with their shoulders so that the weight is going onto their arms. Dipping in the lower back can lead to injury. Wall press-ups are a great and safer alternative!

A word about lunges :
It is important to ensure that there is a straight line between knee and ankle when stepping forwards. Do not allow the knee to cave inwards.
It is often easier to do a backwards lunge and holding on to the wall will help improve technique whilst learning
